The Iris Nebula.
This nebula is a bright reflection nebula, which means it reflects the light of a nearby star or stars -- in this case, the magnitude +7 star, SAO 19158; the 11.3 magnitude variable star T Cephei; and the +3.21 magnitude variable star Beta Cephei (Alfirk). NGC 7023 is a star cluster within the nebula. It lies 1,300 light-years away and is six light-years across.
