A fake ad from the 1950s.

I'm always appalled at advertising fom the 1950s. It's widely assumed that women only want to keep a clean house. It's widely assumed that people will imbibe the most horrific products, like paint thinner and harsh chemicals, if you say it has "smooth taste". And the use of celebrities to hawk the most inappropriate products was widespread. (You'd see Santa Claus leaving cartons of cigarettes under the Christmas tree, or a children's television star pushing liquor.)

When I ran across an ad for Rice Krispies treats, I knew it had to be changed...
