This is a large, yeowling cat manufactured by the Beistle company in 1975.

Beistle was founded in 1900. At the time, Hallowen was HUUUUUGE in the United States, and most people loved the jointed or crepe-paper German decorations that were uncommon in America. Beistle manufactured these domestically, and in the 1950s and 1960s they were one of the largest Halloween decoration companies in America.

A prime example of their work is the "Yeowling Large Black Cat", which was first produced in the early 1970s. It was about 26 inches high. Originally it had no green aura around it, but later editions did.

I mention this, because last year the horror anthology series American Horror Story: Freak Show in the second episode, "Massacres and Matinees". The "Yeowling Large Black Cat" is the most prominent item you can spot, but there are many others. I was so thrilled to see them!!
