A favorite of mine to watch on Halloween: The Masque of the Red Death (1964). This superb Roger Corman film had amazingly high production values, and a stellar cast that included Vincent Price and the inimitable Hazel Court.

The dream sequence in which Court gives her soul to the devil, but then is tortured by Satan so that she has endless deaths in her mind -- a bad LSD trip for the soul.

The screenplay by Charles Beaumont and R. Wright Campbell is nothing short of outstanding.
