Remember the "mysterious triangular UFO on the Moon" that everyone was claiming was either a secret government base or else proof of alien occupation?
It turns out to be a "stiching artifiact". Google Moon (like Google Earth and most Google maps) stitches together tens of thousands of photos to make the map. Where these join together, sometimes the computer makes a mistake and includes a bit of corner.
In fact, there are hundreds of such "stitching artifacts" all over Google Moon.
It's not a crashed UFO, it's not an alien base, it's not a secret government base.
It's an error.
