The vernal equinox occurs on March 20, 2014, at 12:57 PM Eastern Daylight Time. This is when the plane of Earth's equator passes the center of the Sun; the tilt of the Earth's axis is inclined neither away from nor towards the Sun.

The name is derived from the Latin aequus (equal) and nox (night), because at this time day and night are equal in length.

All is in balance. Prepare. The walls between the places are thin.
