Buster Crabbe was an American athlete and actor. He's best known for playing Flash Gordon, Buck Rogers, and Tarzan in the 1930s. He was stunningly handsome, with blond hair and blue eyes and a physique no one could match in the 1930s and 1940s.

Crabbe was born in California but raised in Hawaii. He was 20 years old and a freshman at the University of Southern California (USC) when he participated in his first Olympics. He won the bronze medal in Amsterdam in the 1,500-meter freestyle. He won the NCAA national title freestyle title his senior year in college (1931), and was USC's first All-American. The following year in Los Angeles, he won the gold medal at the Olympics in the 400-meter freestyle.

He made his uncredited film debut in 1930 as a bit player in a short theatrical film.

In 1933, he played the lead in the serial Tarzan the Fearless -- and was a huge hit. (Sol Lessor, the producer had the rights to the Tarzan character, but so did MGM. So for 1933, there were two competing Tarzan franchises in the world!) Although he did only the one Tarzan serial, he played a "jungle man" character in King of the Jungle (1933), Jungle Man (1941), and the 1952 serial King of the Congo.

In 1936, he was cast as the lead in the serial Flash Gordon. He'd make two more serials as Flash Gordon, Flash Gordon's Trip to Mars (1938) and Flash Gordon Conquers the Universe (1939). The serials were later heavily edited and aired repeatedly on television as a series in the 1950s. He also made a boatload of films, mostly sports and westerns.

In 1939, Crabbe was cast in the serial Buck Rogers. He made just a single on of these.

Crabbe would make a whopping 13 "Billy the Kid" B-movies in the early 1940s. When that character grew stale, he made another 23 "Billy Carson" movies (which were identical to the Billy the Kid films in all but name). From 1955 to 1957, Crabbe starred in his own television series, Captain Gallant of the Foreign Legion. He largely retired from acting after that, and became a businessman (often working in the home pool industry).

Another shot of Crabbe as Tarzan.

Buster Crabbe as Flash Gordon. You just want to feel him on top, shuddering after a good orgasm, and then flash that smile. WOOF CITY!

Crabbe again as Flash Gordon. Yum! Yum!
